June Louisiana trip 2023

southern things

6.9.23

A collection of photos from our trip to Louisiana last week. (No descriptions, silent viewing.)

Lots of eventful happenings on this trip. The time flew by and my memory feels like a blur but I’m glad I captured some of it.

Cameras used: Sony RX100m7, Ricoh GR Digital + GW-1 wide adapter (for black and white), Ricoh GR2 (color)

2002 vision

lofi ride

5.27.23

Take a ride with me on Shelby bottoms greenway with an old digital camera from 2002.

As I start my solo ride I quickly notice this beauty warming up on the pavement. She was about 5” long!

Deer are pretty relaxed around the greenway in the summer. Often times you’ll pass them and they wont even move.

Deer #2

bb swamp

Accidental shot down at my bike while I was on the bridge. I love these handlebars!

Bad timing on this shot, but I passed this lady casually walking and holding a shed snake skin.

I attempted riding my fixed gear down a dirt path (ouch). I thought this traffic cone was a funny yet highly effective hole cover.

Finally bake on paved trail and heading back to the car.

Peeking bridge over the cumberland.

Taking a quick breather and water break while admiring my machine in the sun. :)

I get back to the beginning of the greenway entrance and check out the waters near by. Glad I did’nt plan on fishing today.

Fun ride. Lot’s of bizarre happenings around the park that I didn’t document but wished I would have. (oh well) Heading to Louisiana for a week tomorrow!

deliver me.

Oddness

5.23.23

Back on the grind and shooting with my fav gritty guy.

One of my first deliveries took me to a wrong turn and I ended up around a local farm.

Donkey dude giving me the side eye.

I continued on my second route which brought me to a really nice neighborhood. I notice some black vultures gathering near the entrance and quickly find out there was a dead deer next to the road. The whole scene was unsettling.

Old nursing home building.

Passed by this beautiful Jeep Wagoneer on my delivery to a near by apartment. (dream jeep)

One of my last delivery destinations was for Centennial Hospital. I often save these deliveries for last because I don’t particularly enjoy them…

I finally clock out and get back to the east side. I pull into my neighborhood and passed by the aftermath of a recently leveled house. Must be making room for more T&S development.

There was strange debris all around, especially this old Barbie waving at me.

Would love to know if this old Singer still works! I may go back for it.

Today was odd, but not necessarily bad. I’m looking forward to see what tomorrow brings.

Camera used: Ricoh GR Digital (LR enhanced)

Chill hangs with the 2mp camera.

5.22.23

Off today so rode some bikes and kicked it with good company. Brought the 2mp camera along.

Before I linked up with Tyler, I checked out some test prints and dropped off some yellow acetate at Midtown Printing. Photo zines are in the making..

A wacky shaved ice truck pulled up next to me while waiting at a red light. Flavorwave sounds kindof intense, but I like it. :0

I passed this old Pacer on the way to the greenway. Classic minty goodness!

Shelby greenway bridge over the Cumberland river.

These weathered decals reminded me of old, frayed jean patches.

Tyler and I rode down to the skatepark and this pristine Chevy 3100 was sitting in the parking lot. The restoration job was truly mind blowing.

*heart eyes*

We fueled up at Grill Shack after our ride. Big burger, big fries, and black cherry soda was the right choice.

Next stop was the SOULFOLKS headquarters.

Luke going through some vinyl selections. A few of my framed prints on the wall.

Sasha plugged in the MV-8000 and let me hear some stuff he’s been cooking. $$$

End of the day hanging outside of the shop and admiring the palm tree mural on the side of Discount Beer & Tobacco.

Last couple days have been fruitful. Thankful for the buds in my life and for whats to come.
